My —

Your voice
is not the problem.
It shows me
the problems.

Most vocal training begins with an exercise.
I begin with a diagnosis.
I identify the physical, technical and psychological patterns shaping the way you sing, then give you precise corrections you can feel immediately in your own voice.

Less Guessing.
More Listening.
Precision Coaching.
For serious singers who are hungry for real, measurable transformation—not more years of guesswork.

THE PROBLEM

You do not need another random vocal exercise
You need to know why your voice is behaving this way.
Perhaps your high notes work one day and disappear the next. You have been told to “support more”, “place it forward” or “find your mix”, yet no one has explained why your body keeps returning to the same strain.
The problem may not be where you hear it. A tight note can begin with the tongue, jaw, shoulders, breath, posture or the way your body has learnt to protect itself. If we treat only the sound, we may miss the pattern producing it.

Technique without diagnosis is guessing.
CORE POSITIONING

The Diagnosis is where
the Value lives
Most vocal coaches ask: “How do we fix this sound?”

I ask: “Why is this singer producing the sound this way?”

That answer determines everything that follows.

I do not simply listen for a flat note, a breathy tone or a strained high note. I observe the pattern behind it: how you breathe, brace, move, shape your tongue, organise your body, respond emotionally and repeat unconscious habits.

Once we identify the real pattern, the correction becomes precise. You do not have to take my word for it.
You hear and feel the difference as you execute it.
No fluff. No vague imagery without a purpose. No endless repetition of exercises that are not changing the cause.
WHAT STUDENTS SAY
(You will appreciate me more if I'm not your 1st vocal coach)

PHILOSOPHY

The Voice isn't the Mystery
The Singer Is
Vocal anatomy can explain the instrument.
It cannot, by itself, explain the individual using it.

Your anatomy, psychology, performance habits, emotional responses and everyday patterns all meet inside your voice.
Real vocal freedom comes from understanding how these systems work together—not only in a textbook, but while you are singing an actual song.

That is why my work goes beyond teaching vocal parts. I decode the singer as a whole.
WHY BEVLYN

Vocal science has to survive the song.

Knowing vocal anatomy is not the same as knowing how the voice behaves in performance.

I have stress-tested my techniques across Top 40, pop, jazz, R&B, funk, bossa nova, swing, rock, rap and musical theatre. This breadth matters because a technique is only useful if it continues to work when the genre, phrasing, intensity and emotional demand change.

My work combines the ear of a performer, the precision of a diagnostician and the adaptability of a coach who has worked with singers at very different stages.

I do not force every singer into the same sound or sequence. I find the intervention that unlocks your voice.

Experiences include vocal producing for commercial projects, eg.
-
Olivia Ong, Mediacorp artistes (including Chen Jian Bin, Juni Goh, Darren Lim, etc for serial drama theme songs...)
-
"Huawei Best Mate" advertisement
-
Changi Airport Group Celebration Song
-
etc.
THE METHOD
SingingTechniques & Singchology

A diagnostic approach to vocal transformation that integrates:
-
Vocal anatomy and functional technique
-
Breath, resonance and whole-body coordination
-
Habitual tension and movement patterns
-
The singer’s psychology and emotional responses
-
Practical application inside real songs and performances
01
Decode the pattern
We uncover what is actually producing the limitation—not merely where the symptom appears.
02
Repattern the response
You receive precise physical, technical or psychological cues chosen for your particular pattern.
03
Stress-test the change
We apply the correction to songs, styles and performance conditions until the new coordination becomes usable and reliable.
04
Build independence
You learn to hear, diagnose and correct yourself, so you do not remain dependent on a coach forever.
TRANSFORMATION

Stop collecting information.
Start experiencing change.
Many singers arrive after years of lessons with a large vocabulary and very little control. They know the terms, but their body cannot reliably produce the sound.

In our work, understanding must become an experience. You will not simply be told what should happen. You will be guided into a different coordination so you can feel what changes, hear the result and begin recognising how to reproduce it.

This is how we collapse the learning timeline: not by rushing, but by removing the guesswork.
WHO THIS IS FOR

This work is for singers who are hungry

You may be an aspiring singer, working performer or committed adult learner. Your current level matters less than your willingness to take action.
This is for you if:
-
You want to understand why your voice keeps getting stuck
-
You are willing to practise and implement precise corrections
-
You want technique that holds up inside real songs and performances
-
You value direct feedback over reassurance without results
-
You want to become capable of diagnosing and correcting yourself
This is not passive coaching. Transformation requires participation. I bring the diagnosis, the tools and the strategy. You bring the hunger and the discipline.

"What you taught me in 1 hour is more than what I learnt from (another music school) in the past 1 year"
— Adam Lee
“Before I started taking lessons with Bevlyn, I took lessons elsewhere for almost 2 years and progress was minimal there. After my first few lessons with Bevlyn I’ve made more progress than I ever did before. Bevlyn is a very encouraging teacher which helped so much and she makes every lesson fun and engaging. Would 100% recommend her to anyone who wants to learn how to sing !”
- Angela Yeo
"Hey Bev thank you so much for the awesome class!! I feel much difference only after a few classes. Thanks for the very detailed explanation. Vocal is really like a form of science or art.. Coz its not like piano u can demo and I can see where ur fingers run. Teaching vocals is kinda abstract but you make it so detailed not only on the audio side but also from the visual imagery description which is very helpful. So thank you once again."
